Eligibility
Indian citizens and residents traveling outside India are eligible. Daily plans cover ages up to 84 (ages 75–84 at 3x premium). Long-term plans cover ages up to 65. Choose from 3 coverage tiers: Ultra ($30K), VIP ($100K), or VIP Plus ($250K).
Yes. Acute emergencies related to pre-existing conditions are covered up to the following limits by plan tier: Ultra $500, VIP $2,000, and VIP Plus $6,000. The condition must have been stable for at least 60 days prior to departure (no change in treatment, medication, or symptoms). Routine care, follow-ups, and planned treatments are not covered. Cancer, heart conditions, chronic lung disease, and liver disease require written clearance from your doctor before travel. Coverage is not available if the traveler has received a terminal diagnosis. Excluded conditions: STDs, dialysis, organ transplants, oncology treatment, and psychiatric care.
Yes. COVID-19 coverage is included for travelers aged 75 and under, equal to the plan's full medical coverage amount. For travelers aged 76–84, it is available as an optional add-on up to $50,000 (VIP and VIP Plus plans only). Complete WHO-approved vaccination proof is required, and a telemedicine consultation must be the first step before in-person treatment.
Coverage
Medical benefits: accident, illness, COVID-19, pre-existing conditions, dental emergency, medications, medical transport/repatriation, and amateur sports injuries. Non-medical benefits: accidental death, funeral repatriation, trip cancellation, baggage delay/loss, missed flight, flight delay/cancellation, passport theft/loss, hotel convalescence, and legal assistance for traffic accidents.
No. All plans have zero deductibles and zero co-pays. You pay nothing out of pocket at the time of service.
We make direct payments to service providers (hospitals, clinics) on your behalf. This is NOT a reimbursement model — your personal budget and credit cards are not affected.

Claims
Contact the 24/7 Assistance Center within 24 hours of the emergency. Failure to report within 24 hours will result in claim denial. Follow their instructions before incurring any expenses — the Assistance Center will coordinate directly with hospitals and providers on your behalf.
You will need: a copy of your passport, exit stamp from India, entry stamp at your destination, and your boarding pass or travel ticket. For land travel, provide proof of border crossing.
Submit all documentation within 30 days of your voucher expiry. Claims are reviewed within 5 business days of receiving complete documents. Payment is issued within 30 days of approval via bank transfer, money order, or check.
Policy
If the plan is purchased while you are already abroad, there is a 5-day waiting period for all benefits. COVID-19 coverage has a 15-day waiting period. There is no waiting period if you purchase before departing India.
Yes. Request an extension via info@bmitravelassist.com 5–8 days before your policy expiry. Extensions are not available if any benefits have been used. You may only extend to the same or a higher coverage level.
No. TripKavach is designed for Indians traveling to the United States, but the underlying BMI Travel Assist plans cover travel to many countries around the world. A small list of destinations is excluded or restricted: no coverage is available in Iraq, Ethiopia, Syria, Ukraine, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, North Korea, Israel, Afghanistan, or Cuba, and coverage is limited in Venezuela, Russia, and Belarus. If you're planning a trip outside the US and want to confirm coverage, contact us before purchasing.

Pre-existing conditions beyond the covered amount, professional sports, pregnancy (unless the Maternity upgrade is purchased), mental or psychological conditions, drug/alcohol-related incidents, war/terrorism, natural disasters, routine check-ups, congenital conditions, HIV/AIDS/STDs, and suicide or self-harm.
